Sales efforts include new international markets, multiple trade missions

Travel Nevada’s Sales and Industry Partners team spent the past few months promoting the state around the world – including in key travel markets Japan and South Korea, as well as in Mexico and Australia.

Earlier this year, Travel Nevada contracted with international marketing and public relations firm Aviareps for representation in Japan, the United States’ second-largest overseas inbound market, and South Korea, one of the fastest-growing travel markets in the world. In July, Travel Nevada joined a Brand USA sales mission to those countries, and also will participate in the October Japex show in Osaka, Japan.

In August, Travel Nevada teamed up with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority on a sales mission to New Zealand and Australia. In addition to the mission, Travel Nevada conducted one-on-one training sessions with such top producers as Adventure World, Ski Max Holidays, Intrepid Travel and Flight Centre. The mission opened new co-op marketing campaign opportunities and elevated Nevada’s trade efforts.

Travel Nevada in addition led nine of its partners on a September trade mission to Mexico, reinforcing the state’s presence in the marketplace directly with top tour operators, travel agents, airlines and trade media. Travel Nevada hosted trade shows at the offices of two Cancun-based online travel agencies, Best Day and Price Travel, before continuing to Mexico City for two trade events and a VIP dinner with travel associations and airline partners. In total, Travel Nevada partners had the opportunity to network with about 100 travel industry associates.
