New Air Service in 2015
Reno recently saw the return of nonstop international service with the launch of Volaris flights from Guadalajara. In December of this year, Reno will welcome twice-weekly nonstop Thomas Cook flights from London. Ski vacations are the primary incentive for travelers taking this flight, which will run December-April in conjunction with the ski season. Edelweiss Air, a member of Lufthansa Group and serving 45 destinations worldwide, will add a third nonstop flight each week from Zurich to Las Vegas in June 2015. Edelweiss launched nonstop service to Las Vegas in May 2014, and strong demand from Switzerland’s largest city prompted this addition of a third flight.
Las Vegas has seen steadily rising demand in air service, and 2014 marked the highest passenger volume through the airport since 2008. The airport welcomed 42.8 million visitors, a 2.4 percent increase over the previous year.
