Nevada Tourism Partners
Greetings from Carson City where Mother Nature is hinting at fall, but we’re still enjoying bluebird skies and perfect weather for discovering Nevada. Take some time to venture out and celebrate eerie October with visits to area ghost towns, haunted houses, and a variety of deliciously frightening events.
Your team at Travel Nevada is working at full steam and thanks to you, our great partners, our programs are generating tremendous results. Many of the recent activities are outlined in this newsletter. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about the programs outlined or ideas for making our efforts more impactful.
On the administration side of the agency, we’re currently finalizing the FY16-17 strategic plan. This plan provides a roadmap for the organization during the next two years. The plan in its entirety will soon be posted on the TravelNevada.biz site, but as a sneak preview…
We will continue to incorporate the Nevada: A World Within. A State Apart. as the statewide brand with the tourism “Don’t Fence Me In” campaign… it’s working! Our programming will focus on our two key components:
- Marketing – developing and executing a result-driven strategic marketing program that compels consumer purchase decisions through effective use of key marketing and sales channels.
- Education – two areas of focus:
- Create professional development opportunities for members of the Nevada tourism industry that raise the level of expertise across all industry sectors.
- Educate potential visitors through a robust public relations-led integrated marketing program and Nevada Magazine to convey the experiences available throughout the state.
and we’ll focus on six core initiatives:
- Amplify Domestic Sales and Marketing
- Drive International Visitation
- Boost Partnerships
- Create and Convey Value
- Enhance Infrastructure
- Run an Effective Business
All programming will funnel through these six focus areas with the agency’s key performance indicators aligned to these initiatives.
The tourism industry is always reinventing itself and in the next two years, we’ll see myriad changes in infrastructure, product offerings, visitor demographics and marketing channels. It will be a very exciting time for industry professionals who embrace evolution and create opportunity. We’re committed to being part of the progress through executing innovative marketing programs, offering ongoing industry education and identifying creative solutions to moving this industry forward in an impactful way.
Finally, I know a snippet about the upcoming first-ever Global Tourism Summit is included in this newsletter, but for anyone interested in tapping into the burgeoning international market, the Governor’s Global Tourism Summit (Nov. 16-17 Hilton Lake Las Vegas) is a must-attend event! From exceptional speakers to the exclusive Nevada Marketplace (trade show with more than 50 international buyers), this year’s conference promises to offer the most information and business-building opportunities ever.
