Travel Nevada Adventure Centers to be Powered by Outside: Multi-Year Naming Rights Partnership to Debut Ahead of Boulder City Grand Opening

Agreement covers new outdoor recreation hub in Boulder City and a second location coming to Carson City in 2027

BOULDER CITY, NV—Travel Nevada and Outside Interactive, Inc. (Outside) today announced a three-year naming-rights partnership establishing the Travel Nevada Adventure Centers Powered by Outside, first-of-its-kind outdoor recreation hubs connecting visitors and residents with southern Nevada’s outdoor experiences, businesses, and resources. The agreement covers the Travel Nevada Adventure Center—Boulder City, which celebrates its grand opening Oct. 7, and the Travel Nevada Adventure Center—Carson City, which will open in early 2027.

Naming Rights Partnership

The naming rights agreement builds on an existing relationship between Travel Nevada and Outside. In spring 2026, Outside’s branded content studio, Outside Brandworks, produced and aired the five-part series Get a Little Out There with Alex Honnold, which followed world-renowned climber and Nevada resident Alex Honnold on adventures throughout his home state.

“Outside’s name carries real weight with the outdoor community, and we’re proud to have that brand associated with this project,” said Rafael Villanueva, CEO of Travel Nevada. “This partnership, combined with the federal, state, and local resources behind it, will give visitors the confidence and connections to get outside, explore responsibly, and discover why Nevada is such a special place to adventure.”

“At Outside, our mission is to get everyone outdoors to experience healthy, connected, and fulfilling lives, and this partnership is a powerful step toward making that vision a reality in Nevada,” said Robin Thurston, CEO of Outside Interactive. “By pairing physical hubs with our digital tools and storytelling, we’re making the state’s incredible outdoor resources more accessible and inspiring travelers to explore responsibly.”

Travel Nevada Adventure Centers Details

Designed as basecamps for outdoor recreation, the Travel Nevada Adventure Centers will provide direct connections to guided tours, rentals, and other adventure services; trip-planning resources; and safety and conservation information. For outdoor recreation businesses and tour operators, the centers create a physical location for which to connect directly with travelers, supported by marketing designed to drive year-round visitation.

Economic Impact

The Travel Nevada Adventure Centers were developed to expand the infrastructure supporting Nevada’s outdoor recreation economy. In 2022, Travel Nevada was awarded $3,712,000 through the Economic Development Administration (EDA) of the U.S. Department of Commerce to help develop the Boulder City and Carson City facilities. Together, the two projects represent more than $7 million invested on existing state-owned land.

Outdoor recreation plays an important role in Nevada’s visitor economy. In 2025, outdoor recreation spending in Nevada amounted to nearly $1.7 billion. Visitation to Nevada State Parks, Great Basin National Park, and Lake Mead National Recreation Area totaled 10.5 million in 2025, topping 10.5 million for the second consecutive year.
