Travel Nevada Celebrates the power of travel during National Travel & Tourism Week
Travel powers the economy, builds opportunities, and connects America
CARSON CITY, NV — Travel Nevada joins the U.S. Travel Association to celebrate the power of the tourism industry during this year’s National Travel & Tourism Week (NTTW), shining a spotlight on the industry’s essential role in driving economic growth, creating jobs, and enhancing the nation’s global competitiveness.
“Travel is one of our nation’s most powerful economic engines—supporting millions of jobs, fueling businesses and propelling industries forward,” said Geoff Freeman, U.S. Travel Association President and CEO. “National Travel and Tourism Week reinforces the pivotal role travel plays in building a stronger, more prosperous America.”
Since 1983, NTTW has underscored the travel industry’s contribution to U.S. economic strength, community vitality and quality of life. According to the U.S. Travel Association, in 2024, the travel industry generated $2.9 trillion in economic output, supported more than 15 million jobs and produced $190 billion in tax revenue—equivalent to $1,490 per household.
In Nevada, visitors contributed $55.2 billion in direct spending in 2023, supporting local businesses and fostering long-term growth. To demonstrate the impact tourism has on the Silver State, Travel Nevada educates stakeholders through its Tourism Means More educational campaign, which is backed by compelling statistics that illustrate the fiscal benefits of travel and tourism—for the state, the economy, and every Nevada household.
“Travel and tourism mean more in Nevada, driving economic opportunities and strengthening our communities,” said Rafael Villanueva, Travel Nevada CEO. “This National Travel and Tourism Week, we celebrate travel’s undeniable impact and reaffirm its importance in shaping our local economy and quality of life.”
To coincide with National Travel & Tourism Week, Travel Nevada is unveiling a new addition to its website – a tool to assist visitors in learning more about the Silver State. Fueled by MindTrip, this travel platform provides expert tips and suggestions, helping visitors plan their Nevada getaway. Visitors are encouraged to go to www.travelnevada.com and start a conversation that will guide their vacation plans for their next Nevada adventure.
